This is an image of one of my experiments. I glued sheets of newspaper on top of each other until they became 3 dimensional. I then used a band saw to trim the edges of the block.
Newspaper Research
This two-week-long research project's purpose was to study a singular material, such as newspaper, and to push its limitations. I experimented with dying the paper with ink I gathered from highlighters that I already owned. I also experimented with turning the paper, a 2 dimensional object, into a 3 dimensional object which I could hopefully carve a sculpture. I did this by applying a mixture of glue and water in between layers of the paper.
